Bankside Cycling Club
The benefits of cycling are well known. They should be seen and promoted as a way to keep people moving without creating air pollution, benefit residents’ health, and as a way to reduce exposure to harmful air quality during travel. Due to improving
cycling infrastructure, the number of people cycling has seen a huge increase in recent years, particularly in central London. 2015 saw 670,000 cycle journeys a day in London, which is equivalent to 10% of all bus and 20% of all tube journeys.
Bankside Cycling Club will seek to assist in changing the way cycling is perceived by the local community. We want to encourage friends, relatives and neighbours to cycle by providing proficiency classes to residents and businesses alike.
