Our Covid-19 Response Explained

All our contact based services are currently on hold - this includes our sporting sessions for young people, any meetings regarding planning and development, our advocacy and digital support to older residents, cycling sessions, Historic walks and our future events.

We are continuing to conduct our work in relation to shaping and influencing planning and regeneration matters, documenting, promoting and preserving the History and Heritage of our Neighbourhood, planning our projects which seek to reduce air pollution , advocating on behalf of the elderly, coordinating resources to young people and promoting online ways of keeping physically and mentally well.

1. Food and Medicine Deliveries

We are arranging deliveries of food and medicine to vulnerable and elderly residents in Bankside, Borough and SE1. If you need a food delivery or medicines please contact us on info@livingbankside.org or call and leave a voicemail on 020 3488 7293 with your number and someone from our team will ring you back.

If you would like to volunteer to help with delivering medicines and or food to vulnerable/ elderly residents please see the next section below.

2. Digital/Technological Support

If you need help with your TV, laptop or another device please contact us on info@livingbankside.org or call and leave a voicemail on 020 3488 7293 with your number and someone from our team will ring you back.

If you would like to volunteer to help provide digital/technological support to vulnerable/ elderly residents please see the next section below.

3. Positive Ageing Network

We endeavour to reconnect our Positive Ageing Network once again. it was first initiated by the late Marion Marples (of Living Bankside) and Tina Johnstion (of Blackfriars Settlement) bringing together all the older people's service providers in SE1. The network seeks to ensure all the older peoples service providers work together collectively to effectively meet the needs of older residents in SE1.

4. Post COVID-19 Crisis Preparation

Together we will overcome this crisis. We are preparing our programmes and projects for the future which will seek to lift and support our neighborhood once the crisis is over. We are also assessing what support will be required to ensure our people survive and thrive beyond the pandemic.

5. Supporting the NHS

Where possible we are providing NHS staff with food and refreshments to ensure that they have the energy to support and save the lives of those affected by the COVID-19 Pandemic.

If you would like to volunteer to help with delivering food and refreshments to NHS staff please see the next section below.

DONATE

Many residents in our neighbourhood are vulnerable/elderly and are isolated with difficulty in accessing food and medicines. For the elderly and vulnerable, coronavirus could be catastrophic.

We’re doing everything we can with other stakeholders and service providers to protect the the most vulnerable people from Coronavirus in our neighbourhood. But we need your help to do more.

Your kind donation helps us support people in Bankside, Borough and SE1 isolated in these uncertain times, to support those caring for us, to ensure our non-contact based services can continue and that we are prepared to continue all our services once the crisis is over.

It’s a difficult time for everyone – but anything you can give today can make a difference and protect lives. Thank you.
